On June 30th, 2016, Centaurus Financial, Inc.® donated $20,000 to the Simms/Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology. The donation was made during a two to one “match challenge,” turning Centaurus Financial’s $20,000 donation into $60,000 for the Center.
“The accomplishments of the Center are more than impressive, but would not have been possible without the leadership, love and dedication of the Director, Anne Coscarelli, PhD.” said Ron King, CEO of Centaurus Financial. “I met Anne five years ago through a close friend whose companion had successfully fought cancer for over 17 years. She told me herself that she didn’t believe she would have had the will to continue the battle without the counseling, love and support she received from Dr. Coscarelli and the wonderful staff at the Center.”
After meeting Dr. Coscarelli and visiting the Center, King was so moved and impressed by this unique approach to helping people that he joined the Advisory Board in 2012. Since that time he has been an active participant in fundraisers for the Center.
The Simms/Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology is part of UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and UCLA Oncology. The Center focuses on treating the whole person, including the emotional wellness of the patient and their loved ones, throughout the continuum of cancer care. The Center exists by the generous support of donors as the majority of the Center’s programs are offered to individual free of charge.
