Centaurus Financial, Inc.’s Mechanicsville Branch Raised Over $5,000 for Shamrock Rescue Foundation at its First Annual Golf Tournament

On May 19, 2018, Centaurus Financial, Inc.’s Mechanicsville Branch raised over $5,000 for Shamrock Rescue Foundation at its First Annual Golf Tournament. The event was hosted by Centaurus registered representative John Starke of Mechanicsville, Virginia at the Hobbs Hole golf course in Tappahannock, Virginia. Starke, who has had a career of nearly 20 years in financial services, decided to put together this first annual charity golf tournament to raise funds to help homeless animals. A cause that Starke himself has been very dedicated to. For over 20 years, Starke has been fostering dogs, providing them with a safe and loving home until a permanent home is found. Starke was familiar with the rescue work that Shamrock Rescue Foundation does and selected Shamrock as the charity to benefit from the proceeds raised through the golf tournament. The funds were matched by Ron King, CEO of Centaurus Financial, and his wife, Charice King, for a total donation to Shamrock Rescue Foundation of over $10,000.

“The Shamrock Rescue Foundation offers another chance to animals who have no other options. Many of the dogs we take in have been dumped by their families due to age, sickness or injury. We provide them with the care that they need and then work to find them a loving forever home.” stated Charice King, Co-Founder of Shamrock Rescue Foundation. “I am blown away by John’s kindness with selecting Shamrock and am so grateful to everyone involved for the generous donations. This really means so much to us.”

About Shamrock Rescue Foundation

Located in Santa Ana, California, Shamrock Rescue Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) company that saves dogs and other animals who are in danger of being put to death in public shelters. These animals often have little to no hope of a better life, or of a life at all. Without Shamrock Rescue’s intervention, many animals who are now living happy lives with loving families, would not have had a chance. After the animals are rescued, they are examined by a veterinarian, microchipped, spayed and neutered. If additional healthcare is needed, Shamrock provides for it. The dogs are placed in foster homes or boarded until permanent homes can be found for them. One hundred cents of every dollar Shamrock receives goes directly to the animals. All expenses associated with running the foundation are absorbed by the founders and volunteers.
